The US FBA first-mile transportation fee refers to the whole cross-border logistics cost of transporting goods from the Chinese factory/warehouse to the US Amazon FBA warehouse, which is mainly composed of four modules: domestic section fee, international trunk transportation fee, destination country customs clearance and taxes, and US domestic terminal delivery fee, and comes with a number of additional fees. 1. Domestic section (origin) cost
Pre-treatment and transportation costs incurred in China:
Pick-up / towing fee
Transport goods from the factory/seller's warehouse to the freight forwarder's warehouse or port/airport.
Billing: According to the model / mileage, about **¥300-1000 / car ** (starting from the Pearl River Delta).
Storage fees
Goods are temporarily stored in the freight forwarding warehouse and collected and generated.
Billing: Approximately **¥0.5-2/CBM/day**, free storage usually 3-7 days.
Palletizing / wrapping / labeling fee
According to FBA requirements, make wooden trays/rubber trays, and affix FBA outer carton labels.
Billing: About ¥50-120 / Tony **; Labeling is about ¥0.5-1 / box.
Export declaration fee
China Customs export declaration, document preparation, commodity inspection (if necessary).
Billing: ¥350-600 / ticket; Commodity inspection is a separate plan.
VGM filing fee
Shipping container weight verification (mandatory).
Billing: ¥50-150 / container.
2. International trunk line transportation fees (core)
According to the three methods of sea freight, air freight, and express delivery, the billing rules and prices are very different:
1). Sea freight (most mainstream, cost-effective)
FCL (20GP/40GP/40HQ)
Basic sea freight: US West $1,800-3,200/40-foot container; US East $3,100-4,500/40 ft cabinet
Surcharges: Fuel Surcharge (BAF), Currency Depreciation Fee (CAF), Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) (July-October)
LCL (Bulk Cargo)
Billing: By volume (CBM) or weight (tons), whichever is greater
Price: US West ¥800-1400/CBM; US East ¥1200-1800/CBM
Timeliness: 18-25 days for the US-West Clipper (Mason); 25-40 days for general ships
2). Air freight (time-sensitive, urgent replenishment)
Billing: The actual weight and the volumetric weight (length × width × height cm÷6000) are the larger values
Price: ¥30-55/kg (+45kg and up)
Surcharge: Fuel surcharge, safety surcharge (approx. 30%-40% of the total price)
Timeliness: 7-12 days
3). International Express (DHL/UPS/FedEx, Extreme Speed)
Billing: Same as air freight (dimensional weight ÷6000)
Price: ¥50-70/kg
Timeliness: 3-7 days
3. Customs clearance and taxes in the destination country (the United States).
After the goods arrive in the United States, customs clearance and customs fees:
U.S. customs clearance fees
Import customs declaration, ISF (10+2) declaration and review.
Billing: ¥400-800 / ticket; ISF declaration ¥100-200 / ticket
Duty
Calculated based on the declared value of goods × the HS code tax rate of the product
Average U.S. tax rate: 3%-15% (3%-8% for common categories)
Note: The $800 tax exemption will be eliminated from 2026
Port/Airport Operating Fee (DTHC/ATHC)
U.S. ports/airports loading, unloading, and storage.
Sea Freight: ¥500-1500 / container; LCL is included in the freight
US BOND Fees
U.S. Import Mandatory Guarantee (Annual / Single)
Annual BOND: $80-150/year; Single: $50-80 / ticket
4. Terminal delivery in the United States (to FBA warehouse)
After customs clearance, from the port/airport to the Amazon warehouse:
Trailer/truck delivery fee
FCL: Port → FBA warehouse, $300-800 / container (US West Low, US East / Inland High)
LCL / Air Freight: Warehouse unpacking → LTL / Express delivery to warehouse, ¥3-8/kg or ¥400-800/CBM
FBA Inbound Appointment Fee / Lane Fee
Some freight forwarders/warehouses charge: ¥100-300 / ticket
Amazon Warehousing Fees (Very Individual)
